Our History

What started in 2006 as the Sugar Shack, transformed into one of the tastiest, most unique versions of truly authentic BBQ, with a Dirty South twist and a hefty dose of hip-hop style.

SLAB BBQ & BEER was founded on the basis of bringing you new twisted versions of traditional Texas BBQ. We bridge the tastebud gap of the Dirty South from Memphis, to the Carolinas, Alabama, and Texas. We keep the important things authentic.

Word continued to spread and then, in 2014, the first physical location came to life as SLAB BBQ & BEER, complete with commemorative statue. Currently, there are three physical locations in Austin, as well as catering options for our customers. These options include an onsite food truck, full-service catering, pick-up or delivery of family-style meals, or even box lunches to go for meetings and field trips. Getting hungry?
